Taking statins could cut your risk of Parkinson’s

The cholestero­l-lowering drug could reduce your likelihood of developing the neurodegen­erative disorder by up to 16% because it keeps brain arteries healthy in old age, according to research by the American Academy of Neurology. The study followed nearly 3,000 people with an average age of 76, and found that those using statins were 37% less likely to have a thickening or hardening of the arteries.
