Incline running can have a huge benefit on running performance. My Protein health and fitness expert Faye Reid explains how:

Feel the burn

‘With a mere 5 per cent incline you can burn off almost 100 calories more than when you’re running flat.’

Prevent injuries

‘Uphill running is a perfect option for anyone looking to work those rear muscles and avoid excessive strain to their shins and knees.’

Improve endurance

‘As the incline will require more effort and put your muscle fibres to work, in time your running stamina and form will improve.’

Increase speed

‘As well as building your stamina, because of the extra workout to your leg muscles, this will also help increase your running speed.’
