The golden glam

'Illuminate your skin and create a glowy, golden, glamourous make-up look this Christmas,' says Gaynor Matthews, founder of Wow How (wowhowapp.com). Method

Step 1. Firstly, prep your skin with a primer. Use your fingertips to apply as this will allow you to really work the product onto your skin. If you’re in a hurry, we love the Hydrating Face Spray from Sönd Skincare.

Step 2. Apply a foundation that allows your natural glow to shine through. Oily skin types might choose a matte finish, whereas dry skin types might choose a BB cream or Sheer finish foundation. Use a foundation brush or sponge, and apply from the centre of your face outwards for a flawless finish.

Step 3. Use a cream contour palette or stick foundations. With the darker shade, define your cheek bones, nose, jawline and chin. Then, take a damp sponge and tap in small circular motions to blend the colour with your foundation. Concentrate the lighter shade, in the centre of your forehead, on the chin, bridge of the nose and top of your cheek bones and blend as before.

Step 4. Prep the eyelids with a primer. Using your favourite golden shadow, blend the shadow up towards the tail of your brow. Concentrate the majority of the colour on the outer corner and then blend and diffuse the colour up and out – this will give the flattering illusion of a lifted eye. Remember to then blend it along the lower lash line with a pencil brush, as this will tie the look together. Then apply lots of mascara for long luscious lashes!

Step 5. Depending on your preferred look, choose a nude shade for a day time glam look, or bright red for a sultry evening style. Lipstick will last longer if you fill in your lips with a liner first. Product
