Get­ting an early morn­ing fit­ness fix has never been eas­ier

Noth­ing feels quite as restora­tive as a lovely lie-in – es­pe­cially dur­ing the all-out busy fes­tive sea­son, but some­times (some­times be­ing the key word here!), ris­ing ear­lier than usual to tick your work­out box be­fore start­ing your day can reap se­ri­ous re­wards. Whether it’s a calm­ing yoga ses­sion or an in­tense spin class, it could give you a phys­i­cal and men­tal edge first thing in the morn­ing – and we reckon that’s worth it. If that isn't enough, fit­ting it in be­fore Christ­mas shop­ping and fes­tive drinks de­rail your best in­ten­tions is a no­table win at this time of year. ‘On a very ba­sic level, start­ing your day by get­ting in tune with your body and wak­ing your­self up with a surge of en­dor­phins is bet­ter than rolling out of bed and sleep­ily crawl­ing into work,’ says Melissa Power, mas­ter trainer at Cen­tric: 3Tribes. ‘Plus you’ve then got the rest of the day to do as you please!’
