Maddie seems to have plenty of protein in her diet, which is crucial for her recovery, and she gets this from a variety of sources, which is great. However, she also seems to have quite a lot of fast-releasing carbs in the form of bagels, jam and highsugar energy drinks. This, of course, provides her with the readily available energy she needs for her game, but swapping some for slow-releasing nut butter snacks would sustain her for longer. I’d encourage her to incorporat­e more oily fish into her diet, as it provides omega-3 essential fatty acids, which also aid recovery and performanc­e. Finally, switching up her breakfast would give her a bit more nutritiona­l variety. I’d recommend sourdough bread with eggs, or swapping her oats for another grain, such as quinoa.
