It’s time for Tunisia

Besides wonderful beaches basking in the sunshine, Tunisia offers an action-packed world of adventure

If you fly to Tunisia with your heart set on the classic trilogy of sun, sea and sand, you won’t be disappointed. The 800 miles of Mediterranean coast is fringed by beautiful beaches and studded with lively resorts, boasting a wide range of hotels, including many all-inclusives. But there’s bags of action, too. Watersports include sailing, diving, windsurfing and waterskiing – or take the chance to saddle up for a sunset horseback ride along the beach. Inland Tunisia is a vast adventure playground. Head south, into the scenery that formed the backdrop for Star Wars. There are plenty of places to explore in this exciting, sun-baked world, such as the palm-shaded oasis of Tozeur. Head out via quad bike, 4WD or even camel – or simply experience a sunset hot-air balloon ride. Between adventures, you can discover impressive mosaics, explore Roman archaeological sites, visit subterranean villages, admire traditional Berber homes (known as Ksour) and haggle in exotic souks.
