As my sec­ond year of be­ing Ed­i­tor-in-chief of this awe­some mag­a­zine and brand comes to a close, I want to take a look back at all of the amaz­ing things we’ve achieved to­gether – that’s you, Women’s Health’s de­voted and won­der­ful read­er­ship, and my hard-work­ing, ded­i­cated team. We’ve set the agenda on im­por­tant is­sues, bro­ken down bar­ri­ers in well­ness and I know, from the hun­dreds of mes­sages I re­ceive, that we’ve helped many of you get through tough times, be more con­fi­dent and own your des­tiny. Here’s an in­cred­i­ble stat for you. Our an­nual In Shape My Shape body­con­fi­dence cam­paign, where we ask you to share em­pow­er­ing slo­gan cards on­line, has reached more than 98 mil­lion so­cial me­dia users in just two years. To put this into per­spec­tive, the pop­u­la­tion of the UK is around 65 mil­lion. At Women’s Health, we cel­e­brate women by en­cour­ag­ing them to be the best ver­sion of them­selves. In Shape My Shape, with slo­gans like ‘I don’t apol­o­gise for my body’, em­bod­ies this ethos. But if you want to make changes, this bril­liant brand equips you to do so, with cred­i­ble in­for­ma­tion from world lead­ing ex­perts, such as PT Nick Tum­minello on page 57. Nick pro­vided us with work­outs you can do any­where – even at your nan’s house. I couldn’t be prouder of the work my team is do­ing to lead the con­ver­sa­tion on men­tal health. In Oc­to­ber, I spoke at the Global Well­ness Sum­mit in Italy and I was asked what I’d like to hap­pen in well­ness in the next five years. My an­swer was sim­ple: I’d like men­tal health to be talked about and treated the same way as phys­i­cal ill­ness. I truly be­lieve Women’s Health is help­ing to make this hap­pen. Women reg­u­larly tell me that read­ing per­sonal ac­counts of men­tal ill­ness on these pages is help­ing them to open up, mak­ing them re­alise they’re not alone and, if nec­es­sary, seek help. We’ve still got a cou­ple of months to go un­til the end of 2018, but I’m al­ready look­ing for­ward to next year. I’ll be part of an ex­cit­ing project to find the next big thing in health­care tech­nol­ogy – the AXA Health Tech & You awards.
