As my second year of being Editor-in-chief of this awesome magazine and brand comes to a close, I want to take a look back at all of the amazing things we’ve achieved together – that’s you, Women’s Health’s devoted and wonderful readership, and my hard-working, dedicated team. We’ve set the agenda on important issues, broken down barriers in wellness and I know, from the hundreds of messages I receive, that we’ve helped many of you get through tough times, be more confident and own your destiny. Here’s an incredible stat for you. Our annual In Shape My Shape bodyconfidence campaign, where we ask you to share empowering slogan cards online, has reached more than 98 million social media users in just two years. To put this into perspective, the population of the UK is around 65 million. At Women’s Health, we celebrate women by encouraging them to be the best version of themselves. In Shape My Shape, with slogans like ‘I don’t apologise for my body’, embodies this ethos. But if you want to make changes, this brilliant brand equips you to do so, with credible information from world leading experts, such as PT Nick Tumminello on page 57. Nick provided us with workouts you can do anywhere – even at your nan’s house. I couldn’t be prouder of the work my team is doing to lead the conversation on mental health. In October, I spoke at the Global Wellness Summit in Italy and I was asked what I’d like to happen in wellness in the next five years. My answer was simple: I’d like mental health to be talked about and treated the same way as physical illness. I truly believe Women’s Health is helping to make this happen. Women regularly tell me that reading personal accounts of mental illness on these pages is helping them to open up, making them realise they’re not alone and, if necessary, seek help. We’ve still got a couple of months to go until the end of 2018, but I’m already looking forward to next year. I’ll be part of an exciting project to find the next big thing in healthcare technology – the AXA Health Tech & You awards. If you’re a digital health entrepreneur, entries are now open at axahealthtechandyou.com/ innovations, so get applying. I’ll be judging the winner. Good luck.
