Strength, flexibilit­y, power, agility – gymnastics has it all. It strengthen­s core muscles to increase balance and control, building on functional movement for everyday life. It’s also helpful for maintainin­g mental health, as the inverted positions send rushes of blood to your head, releasing mood-boosting serotonin. Getting started with gymnastics is achievable regardless of age or ability – Dionne proved that. She built muscle and her cardiovasc­ular health has improved tenfold, but the main difference is that her power and confidence have sky-rocketed.
