People who eat highly processed foods were found, in a recent study*, to be more likely to have shorter telomeres (strands of DNA at the end of chromosome­s), a marker of cellular ageing. While it’s too soon to confirm a link between burgers and anti-wrinkle cream, a predominan­tly wholefood diet is a holistic health win, for now and for the future.
