TREND WATCH

-

UA FLOW

This is a new footwear platform we’ve developed with Dow Chemical, the company we worked with to develop the foam compound used in the HOVR midsole. It launches with the FLOW Velociti Wind running shoe on 3 March. Expect our lightest high-performance trainer to date, great durability with abrasion resistance equal to carbon rubber, amazing ground traction so you can stride securely, knowing you have grip. Plus, you can tune into our coaching service by connecting to the UA Mapmyrun app for personalised advice based on your pace, tempo, stride length and distance.

No-slip waistband

Through working with female athletes, we’ve found that the number one problem for women’s leggings is the waistband drag and pull-down. To that end, we’ve created the no-slip waistband, which uses cross-woven grip technology inserted in the midriff, locking the wearer in while she’s performing. Basically, it means the end of pulling up your bottoms in the middle of a workout. This kind of technology shows how we’re really focusing on design with women in mind. It will be introduced in our leggings in the first half of 2021, and you can expect more female-specific innovations throughout the year.

Meridian + Moisture Infuse fabric

Following a soft launch, this range is set to expand this spring. Our insights show that women constantly struggle with dry and itchy skin thanks to exposure to things like the sun, wind, rain and chlorine, as well as sweat, which damage the outer layer of the skin. You don’t often think about the link between skincare and sports, but experts say that hydrated skin performs better. We’ve created a new material with moisturising technology embedded into the fabric. There’s no stickiness; microspheres activate on contact, releasing extracts on to the skin through friction to help replenish and soothe.
