A typical day: If I’m filming 10 Years Younger,

I wake up at 4.30am and slip out of the house while it’s still dark. Otherwise, my day begins at 6.50am when my son acts as an alarm clock. Once I’ve dropped my two kids off at school and nursery, I’ll start working on whatever’s booked in for the day. This can be anything from a magazine shoot to filming a brand tutorial. The kids get home around 6ish and then it’s time to crack on with the bath and bedtime routine. Afterwards, I’ll head to the gym to do HIIT or weight-based training. It always clears my mind, gives me focus and helps to re-energise me if I’m really tired. My husband and I secretly look forward to the evening hours as that’s our only bit of grown-up, quiet time. We’ve just got into Schitt’s Creek, so we’ll usually watch that before bed. I’ll also listen to my favourite podcast, Finding The Funny. It’s hosted by James Cordon’s two sisters, one of whom is a good friend of mine, so hearing her voice was comforting during lockdown.

Skincare philosophy: My mum was religious with skincare, and I grew up knowing you had to look after your face by keeping it clean and hydrated. As a make-up artist, I’m always surprised when I meet people who expect foundation and concealer to transform their complexion but haven’t bothered with basic skincare. The better your skin’s condition, the better your make-up will look.

Skincare non-negotiable: A really epic cleansing oil. At the end of the day, it’s so important to remove every last scrap of make-up, pollution and dirt. Cleansing oils are gentle on the skin but can easily dissolve longwear cosmetic formulas.

Main skincare concern: I have a thyroid condition called Hashimoto’s disease, and baggy undereyes can be a really common side effect, so I’m always trying to hydrate and reduce puffiness around the eye area. I’m never sure how effective my efforts actually are because I’m forever experimenting with different eye creams.

BIOEFFECT EGF ESSENCE £79

This works wonders at keeping my skin hydrated. It sends a repair signal to skin cells so they produce more collagen and elastin. I’ve been using it for about 18 months and I’ve definitely seen an improvement in my skin health – it’s clearer, brighter and plumper.

SHISEIDO ULTIMUNE POWER INFUSING CONCENTRATE, £69

Shiseido is renowned for its impressive skincare research. This serum feeds skin with protective antioxidants and works to boost its natural defences against stress, thanks to reishi mushroom extract. It boosts the performance of any other skincare product I layer on top, too. In the past, I’ve used serums that don’t make my skin look or feel noticeably better, but this really does.

WELEDA SKIN FOOD, £7.95

I swear by this. I use it myself and keep it in my professional kit, too. People always ask me how to achieve ‘that glow’. Sometimes you have to reach for a rich, thick emollient rather than make-up. If I’m not using foundation, I’ll apply this to make me look dewy. A friend will often ask, ‘What highlighter is that?’ And I’m like, nope, it’s just great skincare!

BOBBI BROWN SOOTHING CLEANSING OIL, £35

This is probably my favourite cleansing oil. It’s brilliant at taking the day off. Packed with goji berry extract, jasmine flower, jojoba oil and vitamin E, it leaves my skin feeling super soft, supple and hydrated, rather than tight and dry, like some other cleansers.

LEAVES & FLOWERS SKIN SLEEP CREAM, £45

This is a really rich, oily balm infused with CBD oil, plankton extract and Bulgarian rose. I love the idea of all the nourishing ingredients penetrating my skin while I sleep, and I feel like the CBD helps to destress my mind as well as my skin.

THE LIGHT SALON BOOST LED FACE MASK, £395

Using an LED mask has so many benefits. It’s been proven to strengthen, brighten and rejuvenate skin, but using it before bed also helps me unwind. I enjoy having 10 minutes to close my eyes, sit back without my phone and relax.

BEAUTY PIE SUPERCHEEK CREAM BLUSH IN UNIVERSAL PINK, £25

This is a great formula that’s not too wet or too dry. Yet the real magic is the universal pink shade, which is fresh but has blue undertones so works across all skin tones. It’s great for faking that post-exercise glow.

WESTMAN ATELIER SUPER LOADED TINTED HIGHLIGHT IN PEAU DE ROSÉ, £69

I’m yet to find a better highlighter than this. It melts seamlessly into the skin and gives me a radiant glow, but crucially doesn’t have that glittery metallic effect – it’s pearlescent.

HONEST BEAUTY EXTREME LENGTH MASCARA + PRIMER, £19

This mascara is dualended – one end primes and fattens the lashes, while the other darkens and lengthens. As it’s vegan, I assumed it wouldn’t be any good, but I was so wrong. It’s brilliant and I go back to it again and again.

SIGNATURE SCENT

TOM FORD SOLEIL BLANC EAU DE PARFUM, £174

I’m a fragrance hoarder, but I can’t get enough of this summery coconut blend. When I got married in 2006, Tom Ford had just released a collaboration with Estée Lauder called Azuree Soleil and I took the body oil on my honeymoon. Its scent was essentially the same as this perfume, so now every time I smell it, it takes me straight back to post-wedded bliss.
