A new study of 105,000 women taking combined HRT – which tops up dropping hormones during the perimenopa­use and menopause – found a link to lower rates of heart failure and type 2 diabetes, which in turn pointed to a 9% decrease in early death. Parliament just approved up to a £200 annual cut to the cost of repeatable HRT prescripti­ons, too.
