Sniff out wild boar

World of Animals - - Discover Deutschland -

Wild boar are spread throughout the woodlands of Germany in groups called ‘sounders’. Sniffing out berries, nuts and insects, a boar is typically nocturnal and spends the night searching for food. Boars can weigh up to around 200 kilograms (440.9 pounds) but are much more agile than their domestic pig descendants. Boar mothers are very protective of their young, so should you see a family do not approach it. In fact, it is best not to approach any wild boars, as they can become very aggressive.
