Sloths are born up in the tree canopy, but at least they’re able to grab onto their mothers – gi­raffes plum­met 1.5 me­tres (4.9 feet) to the ground as fe­males give birth stand­ing up. Seem­ingly unfazed by this dra­matic en­trance, calves are wob­bling around on their long legs in just half an hour.
