New­born gi­ant pan­das are 800-times smaller than their mothers and take sev­eral months to reach peak cute­ness

Fe­male pan­das are fer­tile for just three days each spring. If they man­age to mate in that tiny win­dow, they give birth to one or two cubs af­ter three to four months. New­borns are pink and blind and weigh just 100 grams (3.5 ounces). Over the next few months they de­velop rapidly and grow their char­ac­ter­is­tic pat­terned fur.
