Temperature-regulating nose

World of Animals - - All About Reindeer -

Reindeer have large, broad noses that help to regulate their body temperature. The cold air is warmed before it enters the lungs, and the used

warm air is cooled as it is exhaled. Any water vapour is condensed and absorbed into the blood or used to moisten the cold, dry, incoming air.
