Parasites and disease

World of Animals - - All About Reindeer -

A parasite known as the reindeer abomasal nematode can be ingested as they forage in their summer feeding grounds. These parasites can cause weakness, disease and even death. In Finland, warmer temperatures have also increased mosquito populations and led to outbreaks of Setaria tundra in herds.
