We will not be without football for long. There are plenty of international events this summer that merit attention
So that was the season that was. In our review of the 2016-17 campaign, we have something for everybody: a record-breaking European title for Cristiano Ronaldo and Real Madrid; another Golden Shoe for Lionel Messi; heavyweight champions (Juventus, Chelsea and Bayern Munich); returning heroes (Feyenoord); and first-time title-winners (Rijeka). Not to mention some up-and-coming coaches and surprise promotions.
There should be more than enough to keep your interest over the summer – and we will not be without football for long. There are plenty of international events this summer that merit serious attention.
Next month, we’ll have analysis of England’s World Under-20 win and the European Under-21 championship. Plus we’ll also have a comprehensive review of the Confederations Cup in Russia – a chance to assess how well equipped the Russians are to host next year’s finals. And, lest we forget, the World Cup qualifiers have reached a critical point, so we will also analyse the key games as the countdown to the 2018 finals begins.
