AL NAHDA

Formed in a merger between Al Buraimi and Mahdah in 2003. Based in Al Buraimi, the club have won three league titles, the last in 2014.

AL NASR

Originally from Al Haffa, Al Nasr merged with Al Shate’a in 1972 and relocated to Salalah. League winners five times, most recently in 2004, and Sultan Qaboos Cup winners in 2018.

AL OROUBA

Backed by Sheikh Salem Bin Said Al Fannah, chairman of local energy giants Galfar, the Sur-based club are four-time champions, the last in 2015.

AL RUSTAQ

Immediatel­y relegated after promotion in 2016, the club from the Al Batna region bounced straight back.

AL SHABAB

Runners-up in the last two seasons, they were formed in 2003 following a merger between Barkaa and Wady Al Mawil.

AL SUWAIQ

The reigning league champions are from Al Batinah and play in Seeb, where they are well supported. Made the last 16 of the AFC Cup in 2012.

DHOFAR

The club from Salalah benefit from the stability of a long-serving president in Sheikh Badr Al Rowas, who has been in charge since 2007. Won 10 league titles, most recently in 2017, and in the running again this season.

MAJEES

Promoted last season but struggling in the top flight.

MIRBAT

The football wing of a multi-sport club from Salalah.

MUSCAT

Three-times league winners, the last in 2006. Later relegated, they returned to the top flight in 2015 and are among the front runners this season.

OMAN CLUB

Founded in 1932, they were Asian Club Championsh­ip runners-up in 1994 and Omani champions in 1997.

SAHAM

Gulf Champions League runnersup in 2014.

SOHAR

From Al Batinah and the archrivals of Saham, they were promoted to the top flight in 2013.

SUR

Founded in the 1960s by Kuwaitis, they were league winners twice in the 1990s. Little recent success but have a strong focus on youth.
