Nomme Kalju, Flora and Levadia all went into their final game of the season with hopes of winning the championship, but Kalju’s 4-1 victory at home to Narva Trans secured their second title and a first since 2012. Having merged with 2016 league winners Infonet Tallinn in 2017, Levadia won the Final in May, beating Flora 1-0 with a goal from Roman Debelko. Vaprus were relegated to the second tier and swap places with Esiliiga winners Maardu Linnameeskond, while Kuressaare retained their top-flight status with a 2-0 aggregate victory over Elva in a play-off.
League winners Nomme Kalju go into the draw for the first qualifying round of the Champions League, while Levadia and Flora start at the same stage of the Europa League. Flora’s attacking midfielder Zakaria Beglarishvili was the league’s second-top scorer with 30 goals. Having made one appearance for his native Georgia, he now hopes to be considered for Estonia’s national side. Having finished third in his first two seasons with Kalju, Sergei Frantsev agreed a one-year extension a few weeks after claiming top spot this time round. A central defender who scored eight goals for Narva Trans, 26-year-old Bermuda international Dante Leverock left Narva Trans for Republic of Ireland side Sligo Rovers after just one season.
