On the radar

(Borussia Dortmund)

-

Dortmund is already home to some of the very best young players in Europe, and Reyna is very much following in the footsteps of Jadon Sancho and Erling Haaland.

After making his debut in January – breaking Christian Pulisic’s record as the Bundesliga’s youngest American – Reyna has this season made the step up from promising teenager to firstteam match-winner. In his first three league matches, Reyna was directly involved in four goals, including three assists in one game.

Born in Sunderland to former Black Cats midfielder Claudio, Reyna has been targeted for an England call-up by the FA. The USA are determined to hold on to him though, particularly if he can repeat his father’s success: Reyna senior went to four World Cups and was captain in 2006.
