Fans of the Magpies boycotted their payper-view fixture with Manchester United and instead donated the £14.95 fee to food banks, raising over £20,000. The move was in stark contrast to the club’s owner, Mike Ashley, who has banked £7 million in season-ticket sales in spite of fans being unable to attend games since the start of the pandemic.
