In October 2018, the DC United defender was diagnosed with stage two Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, and spent a gruelling two months in chemotherapy battling the disease. After making a full recovery, he returned to MLS in May, and in October his inspiring comeback continued as he scored his first-ever goal. “Just to be able to be healthy and help the team on the field and get a win, that’s everything to me,” he said.
