Juventus – who signed Pellegrini for €22 million from Roma in the summer of 2019 – plainly think the Italy U21 left-back has a few rough edges, loaning him to Cagliari last season and Genoa this term. Others believe the Serie A champions are acting too cautiously, that the 21-year-old’s boldness, pacy effervescence and dexterity on the ball is worth a place in the team right now.
