Despite rumours that Liverpool were monitoring him, Ajax’s ball-playing centre-back wisely chose the continuity option, extending his contract with the Amsterdammers until 2025. This is only his first full season as an Ajax starter and his top priority must be to fully establish himself in the Ajax scheme of things.
