David Beckham
After an indifferent debut season under Uruguayan head coach Diego Alonso, Inter Miami have changed course.
Phil Neville replaced Alonso, arriving alongside new sporting director, Chris Henderson, but the biggest change might be the increased involvement of owner David Beckham, keen to see a return on his investment in the likes of Gonzalo Higuain and Blaise Matuidi.
“My work with Chris and Phil will be very hands-on,” Beckham said in January, as he aims to “make sure that this club is treated and seen as one of the top clubs in the game.”
Miami made the play-in round of the play-offs last season, but a cohesive plan was lacking. That wasn’t solely on Alonso or then-sporting director Paul McDonough, but with Beckham overseeing things, there should be clearer direction.
