Elsewhere DANNY COWLEY replaced Kenny Jackett at Portsmouth.

In the Eredivisie, VVV-Venlo hired a replacemen­t for Hans de Koning, recruiting former Monchengla­dbach, Stuttgart and Sheffield Wednesday manager JOS LUHUKAY. Elsewhere, PEC Zwolle confirmed that ART LANGELER will become their new head coach at the end of the season.

Milton Keynes Dons signed former Chelsea wonderkid JOSH McEACHRAN and Watford captured Colombian midfielder CARLOS SANCHEZ.

Former Schalke and PSV winger JEFFERSON FARFAN returned to former youth club Alianza Lima in Peru.

In MLS, Inter Miami announced the signing of three-time FA Cup winningdef­ender KIERAN GIBBS. He will join the Florida-based club when his contract with West Bromwich Albion expires at the end of the season. Elsewhere, Seattle Sounders announced the return of their record goalscorer FREDY MONTERO.

AFRICA

Egyptian Premier League giants Zamalek reappointe­d PATRICE CARTERON as the club’s head coach, following the announceme­nt that the White Knights had parted company with Jaime Pacheco.

EUROPE

Sheffield United confirmed that manager CHRIS WILDER had left the club by mutual consent after almost five years in charge. He left the Blades bottom of the Premier League, with 14 points from 28 games.

Bayer Leverkusen fired PETER BOSZ after a run of one win in six league games, as well as being knocked out of the Europa League.
