End of an era
After 14 years representing Celtic, 35-year-old midfielder Scott Brown has signed a pre-contract agreement with Scottish Premier League rivals Aberdeen in a playercoach role. After being denied an unprecedented tenth consecutive league title by Steven Gerrard’s Rangers this season, Brown has decided that it is the right time to embark on a new chapter in his career.
Brown has made more than 600 appearances for the Hoops since joining from Hibernian in 2007, winning ten league titles and 12 domestic cups during that time. Outgoing Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell has described the midfielder as the most influential figure in Scottish football over the past 15 years.
