Russian exodus

A number of players and coaches departed the Russian Premier League in the wake of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Former Norwich City boss Daniel Farke stepped down from his new role at Krasnodar without taking charge of a game, while former Newcastle United forward Remy Cabella and Sweden winger Viktor Claesson also walked away from the club, with Poland internatio­nal Grzegorz Krychowiak and Brazilian Wanderson joining AEK Athens and Internacio­nal, respective­ly, on loan until the end of the season.

Elsewhere, Ukraine centre-back Yaroslav Rakitskyi quit Zenit Saint Petersburg, Royal Antwerp striker Didier Lamkel Ze cancelled his loan at Khimki, Pontus Almqvist joined Utrecht from Rostov until the end of the season and Georgia forward Khvicha Kvaratskhe­lia left Rubin Kazan for Dinamo Batumi on loan.
