Dark Dragon Publishing is a US small press specialising in ‘horror, dark fantasy, paranormal, historical and some science fiction novels’ of 75,000 to 150,000 words. Note that they do not publish pure romance or erotic novels but novels may have ‘romantic and/or erotic elements’ Submissions are currently open; read and follow the detailed novel guidelines.

Submit a submission package of a query letter of no more than one page, a synopsis of the novel, no more than two pages and the first five pages of the novel. Put the whole query package in the body of an email. Make sure to sell the novel and yourself as a writer.

Note that the team will ‘consider a well written young adult novel’ if it fits their parameters.

• Dark Dragon also publish anthologies and currently need short story subs for Dreaming The Goddess,a collection of short stories, 2,50020,000 words. The main theme is to be ‘the Divine Feminine in all Her aspects’, with a pagan, heathen, occult influence

Stories may be uplifting, inspirational, dark tales, fantastic, written with truth or complete fantasy; the team are open to fiction and non-fiction in all varieties.

Deadline is 31 March 2021. Response time is ‘within three weeks’. Payment and rights are discussed with the contract for novels, and a part share of royalties for the anthology.
