See or hear your work
A biannual speculative fiction magazine, the intriguingly titled Three-Lobed Burning Eye (3LBE) features six original stories some of which include audio. If your piece is accepted you will have the opportunity to have your work recorded or record it yourself. The magazine is published in various formats and there is an annual print anthology.
Horror, fantasy and science fiction stories are wanted, ‘full of feeling, from literary to pulpy, with styles unique and flowing but not too experimental… we want tales that expand genre, that value imagination character, narrative and plot,’ according to the guidelines.
Not wanted is fan fiction, novel excerpts, memoir, poetry, non-fiction and extreme horror with excessive descriptions of violence or gore and erotica, unless it is ‘hotness’ in context of the story. It is advised you have a look at previous copies of the magazine for a clearer idea of what is published and these can be read online for free.
Word counts for submissions are 1,001-7,500 for short fiction and a maximum 1,000 words for flash fiction. Submissions of 2,000-5,000 words are preferred and there are formatting guidelines on the website. Your submission should not be a simultaneous or multiple submission or a reprint.
Payment rates are $100 for short fiction and $30 for flash fiction, payable by Paypal, plus a copy of the print annual, for First World Electronic Rights, Non Exclusive Archival Rights and Non Exclusive Rights for the printed annual.
