Criminal double acts and crimes of passion

Mitzi Szereto is inviting submissions of reallife/true crime stories for two forthcoming anthologies.

• The fourth volume in her true crime series, The Best New True Crime Stories is Partners in Crime.

Submissions should be true crime stories featuring law-breaking couples who have joined forces to commit crimes. Stories can come from anywhere in the world, in any time period and feature any kind of criminal activity. Mitzi is particularly interested in first-person accounts written by someone with a personal connection to the case.

The closing date is 15 February.

• The fifth book in the series will be The Best New True Crime Stories: Crimes of Passion, Obsession and Revenge.

Submit true crime non-fiction stories of people who have been driven to commit crimes through love, passion, obsession, jealousy, betrayal etc. All stories must be non-fiction, about a real crime, which may have taken place anywhere in the world. Stories from writers with a personal connection to the crime are welcomed.

The closing date is 21 October 2021.

Submissions for both anthologies must non-fiction between 4,000 and 7,000 words. All submissions must be entirely factually accurate.

In the first instance, contact Mitzi with the idea. She will be commissioning on a rolling basis.

Each writer whose story is accepted for either anthology will receive $130 and two copies of the book.
