Find a place in Booth

- PDR Lindsay-Salmon

The Booth editorial team publishes ‘four titles of original literature on the first Friday of every month’ and ‘two print issues yearly, usually in summer and winter’

Booth is published by the staff, students, faculty, and alumni from the Butler University MFA programme. The team are open to subs annually, from 1 September to 31 March, and seek poetry, fiction, nonfiction, comics, lists, and audio files. Currently the team need more of ‘the last four please. We want more of those.’ Read the back issues as this is a literary journal with quirky tastes and writers need to find their style and tone.

Submit poetry: up to three poems in a single document, fiction or creative nonfiction work, up to 7,500 words, comics, up to twenty pages. Audio work may be up to eight minutes of content, as mp3, wav, or mp4 files. Be sure to record 0.5 to 1 second of room tone at its beginning and 1-5 seconds of room tone at its end. You may attach a written transcript of the work, but this is not necessary. Audio files, no more than eight minutes, may be narrative fiction or spoken word or personal essay or anything interesting. Lists may also reach 7,500 words but be original.

Simultaneous submissions are accepted but not multiple submissions or reprints. Submit online using their system. Response time is ‘a turnaround time of sixty days, though we do not always deliver on this’.
