All for love
‘Who said marriage and romance are on the wane?’ writes subscribe Aurelien Thomas.
‘A Vow is a collection of love poems which was self-published last year, but, thanks to its popular appeal, was just picked up and released again by GMGA Publishing.
Two poems (yes, two) had been scrutinised by Alison Chisholm in her WM feature Poetry Workshop,
back in February 2019, and the collection had quite a journey ever since. Alison Chisholm, commenting on the endeavour of writing a full collection of love poems only, rightly advised then how ‘it’s worth remembering that including joyous, frivolous, melancholy, yearning, funny and tender poems side by side will add appeal and keep the reader’s interest piqued throughout the book.’ Well, given the success of A Vow so far, the author guesses he may have achieved just that. With an average of five-star ratings on Amazon and Goodreads, it is fair to say that A Vow has been melting the hearts of many since it first came out. The best part? Poetry can be a force for good, and the author, a care support worker for people with learning disabilities, is proud to donate his royalties from A Vow to Happily Dating (https://happilydating.co.uk)a
project based in London and helping people with learning disabilities and/or on the autism spectrum finding love and friendship. So, quirky love poems at the service of a good cause… What are you waiting for to get your copy?
