Factor Four Magazine is a quarterly US online and print flash fiction magazine publishing science fiction, fantasy, supernatural and superhero stories up to 1,000 words in length. Editor-inchief Richard Flores IV and his team are currently relaunching the title after a hiatus, and you can read previous issues here to get a flavour of the kind of stories required: https:// factorfourmag.com/back-issues/

Submissions can be any combination of science fiction, fantasy, supernatural and superhero, and strong language and sexual content are acceptable so long as they fit the story well.

Submissions are accepted from any writer anywhere in the world, regardless of identity. Flores particularly believes in including diverse voices and notes that ‘we also want to help readers find stories written by people they identify with. We have several

“tags” that we can put on a story to help readers find these authors. Upon acceptance, authors are asked to voluntarily let us know which of these applies to them. This is 100% optional and only asked once the story is accepted.’

Payment is 11¢ per word for first print and electronic rights, exclusive for the first six months after publication. No reprints, multiple or simultaneous submissions. Send your story as a doc, docx or rtf file.
