Critical Blast is published by a group ‘dedicated to delivering news, reviews, opinions and interviews from the field of entertainm­ent and pop culture.’ Publisher Howard Price is publishing an anthology, deadline 31 January, the third volume in ‘The Devil You Know’ anthology collection – The Devil You Know Best. The Writers Co-op

The members of the Writers Co-op are looking for stories for their 7th annual ‘The Rabbit Hole’ anthology, deadline 30 April. Stories and poems should explore how ‘weird’ fits into numerous genres in the theme, ‘Not From Here.’ Submit weird stories under 5,000. Flash fiction is also welcome under 1,000 words. Celticfrog Publishing

Celticfrog Publishing is looking for stories about Bigfoot/Sasquatch/Yeti. The genre is open, but stories should be PG. Stories, 4,000 words, should feature Bigfoot as the centre of the story. Base it round a sighting, the creature’s point of view, ‘or anything in between.’ Payment is ‘a minimum of $100 Canadian and a copy.’ PDRLS

JayHenge Publishing currently has calls out for two spec-fic anthologie­s, The Kafka Protocol and The Pelagic Zone: Uncharted Waters, both edited by Jessica Augustsson.

The Kafka Protocol anthology needs stories, flash-length to 12,000 words, about ‘the struggles of navigating an endless sea of paperwork,’ about the ‘tedium and surrealism of bureaucrat­ic procedures, and ‘the tyranny of faceless institutio­ns.’

The Pelagic Zone: Uncharted Waters anthology needs seculative fiction, flash-length to 12,000 words, about a planet like the earth, (or indeed earth,) mostly covered in water. Payment US$5 per 1,000 words for all current anthologie­s, plus a copy. PDRLS
