Keep At Bay
Founded in 2008, At Bay Press is an independent Canadian publisher based in Winnipeg, writes Gary Dalkin. It is a member of the Association of Canadian Publishers and the Association of Manitoba Book Publishers. In 2015 At Bay won the Independent Publisher Book Award gold medal for Outstanding Book of the Year for Woman – An Anthology, a volume which featured Alice Munro and Stephen King, among many other writers.
The press strives to seek out new work by both established and undiscovered authors and is looking to publish original, thoughtful titles. The editors are committed to supporting creativity and diversity, and the company’s books are published worldwide. They are looking for literary fiction and literary nonfiction, including poetry, literary mysteries, thrillers, and noir, and are interested in quality submissions in the science fiction, fantasy and graphic novel genres.
At Bay Press accepts unsolicited submissions, though these must be exclusive and made via the submission engine linked to from the guidelines page at www.atbaypress.com/submissions It is essential to read and follow the full guidelines.
Submit complete manuscripts only. Poetry manuscripts should be at least 70 pages. Number and put your name and address on all pages. Include a single page cover letter introducing yourself, including any relevant writing credits. You may include a formal writing CV. Also send a one page synopsis of your manuscript.
