They make the games we love, but what do they play for fun? We ask developers to pick six from Xbox history. This month: Brian Fargo and Chris Keenan

Chris Keenan: I would definitely choose The BioShock Collection [1]. I’m a huge fan of the BioShock series. I think some of the stuff Ken Levine and that team have done within that game as far as emotional impact has been fantastic, and it’s spurred me along every step of the way. That’s one of those games I would be happy to replay multiple times, over and over.

Brian Fargo: I would choose The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt [2] for sure because it does such a great job on immersion. I feel like I could play it over and over again. I would probably say the

Dark Souls series [3]. Even if I was trapped on a desert island I don’t think I could finish it! I would pick Overwatch [4] because it’s such a great multiplayer game. I would’ve said Hearthstone, but it’s not on Xbox. Wasteland was a PC game first and when we went to put it on consoles there were a couple of games we studied that I thought transferred that isometric gameplay really well. I was amazed at how well Diablo III [5] played on consoles. That to me was a great conversion from something that was such a true PC game.

Battlefield 1 [6] isn’t out yet, but, boy, that looks good. It looks so beautiful and I’ve heard nothing but great things, so with my limited number of options I would use one on gambling on Battlefield 1 being great. [Unsurprisingly, it turned out to be brilliant. Good call, Fargo – Ed.]

Brian Fargo Fargo is the founder of in Xile Entertainment and is developing Wasteland3 with Keenan. They’re currently laughing and rolling around in a big room full of money (we assume) after successfully crowdfunding over three million dollars for...
