People really aren’t happy with Sea Of Thieves’ first Pirate Legend

Hitting level 50 across the game’s three factions is a mighty undertaking that involves many, many hours of skeleton-bashing, riddle-solving and sailing. So naturally everyone in the community wanted to be the first to do it. And naturally everybody now hates the one player who managed it.

But it’s not quite that clear cut. You see, Prod1gyX streamed their attempt to become a Pirate Legend on Twitch, and gained quite a following doing so. The problem is, many of those watching believed that Prod1gyX was ‘boosting’ to get to his accolade. In other words, joining parties of other players and piggybacking their achievements to accelerate their own progress. You might see this as textbook pirate behaviour – plundering the riches of others – but the pirate population has largely disavowed its first ever Pirate Legend. Would Jack Sparrow have played by the rules?
