It’s only five years since Dead Space 3, so the Dead Space franchise could still make a comeback, but we doubt it will. Developer Visceral was closed down last year, and the determinedly linear space-horror third-person shooter no longer chimes with its publisher EA’s current modus operandi of concentrating on games-as-a-service and open worlds. Dead Space was expensive to make and saw diminishing sales returns with each iteration. But we loved how it let us dismember aliens with jury-rigged weapons, and would be chuffed to see it return, in whatever form it might take.
