Blinx: The Time Sweeper
publisher artoon/ last seen 2004
Whaddaya mean, you’d forgotten about the existence of this 2002 exclusive for the original Xbox from Artoon? Blinx the cat, armed with his time-controlling vacuum cleaner, was supposed to be Microsoft’s answer to Sonic or Mario – the Xbox’s mascot – for gawd’s sake. So let’s pause to genuflect at the altar of Master Chief. Yes, Blinx and its sequel, 2004’s Blinx 2: Masters Of Time And Space were pretty bog-standard platformers, so we’re not being entirely serious when we advocate its resurrection. Though to be fair its time-manipulating mechanic was pretty interesting (you could pause, rewind, fast-foward, slow-mo and record, all on the Xbox’s hard drive), and the Xbox One could always do with more kid-friendly franchises.
