Format Xbox | Release 2001 Bungie’s Covenant-crippling classic is arguably the most important FPS of all time. Halo helped make the Xbox brand iconic, and it was thanks to the power of Microsoft’s powerhouse console that the flagship shooter outgunned other blasters at the time. A 32-bit Intel Pentium III CPU and built-in Nvidia NV2A graphics card combined to give the OG Xbox the juice to render sprawling environments. When you combined these alien playgrounds with superb character models, Halo was a masterpiece like no other. Throw in some incredible AI, and the Chief’s debut screamed ‘next-gen’.
