The X factor
There’s never been a better advert for Xbox One X than RDR II. Rockstar’s majestic, melancholy Western outputs at a full-fat 4K – providing you have the appropriate Ultra HD display – making it considerably sharper than any other version. On Microsoft’s supercharged console, performance also sticks to a locked 30fps the vast majority of the time. As for the base Xbox One, while the game still looks lovely, a resolution of just 864p means the standard console version is a tad blurry. Time to treat yourself to an X-shaped upgrade.
