Batman: Arkham Knight

Rocksteady’s

Arkham trilogy that started with Arkham Asylum and Arkham-City culminates in this bit of Xbox One brilliance. Despite a plot that is less surprising than a wind-up exploding penguin, and some almost awful convoluted sequences involving combat in the Batmobile, its mix of stealth, intuitive counter-attackbased combat, investigation, a huge open-world Gotham City and wealth of great Batman characters with top-notch voice acting make this the super-est of our superhero Xbox games. The Arkham series is in fact, so good, that every time DC make a new film, we gamers groan at the apparent ineptitude of Hollywood when it comes to casting and writing Batman movies. And, despite the Joker being ‘dead’, Mark Hamill puts in his best turn yet as the Clown Prince plaguing Bruce Wayne’s mind.
