Com­edy is pretty much built into couch co-op, re­gard­less of the type of game you ac­tu­ally end up play­ing to­gether, be­cause things will go wrong and the nat­u­ral re­sponse is to laugh. Or to curse your team­mate be­neath your breath. But mostly laugh. Hu­man:

Fal­lFlat dou­bles down on this by giv­ing play­ers feet of clay – lit­er­ally. You each play a flail­ing plasticine tod­dler in a sand­box of over­sized toys, with the rag­doll physics di­alled all the way to ‘Chuckle Broth­ers’. The game’s con­trols are in­ten­tion­ally clumsy, mak­ing it dif­fi­cult to com­plete sim­ple tasks like climb­ing a fence but easy to ac­ci­den­tally cling onto a team­mate as you tum­ble over the edge of a level. And then curs­ing. Or, hope­fully, laugh­ing.
