Kindness of strangers
One of our dear friends, the owner of an Etap 30 in Dartmouth, died unexpectedly. I knew the boat a little, having been third mate on the delivery voyage from Largs. One of my tasks at this sad time has been to find the ancilliaries that have been stored or refurbished throughout the winter.
To my amazement, Owain Peters of Kemp Sails contacted me to say that the jib was checked and stored at Wareham this winter. He declined to take any payment for this kindly service and offered to transport the sail back to our local sailmaker without charge. Many thanks to Kemp Sails for this kindness.
