Bad behaviour in marinas

-

On the face of things you’d imagine there isn’t a lot you can do here to upset anyone else, but one or two areas are prime targets for serious aggravation. do you do? Pull it? Make it fast? Loop it round like a Dutchman? You can’t be expected to know. Recently, I’ve started asking, ‘What would you like me to do with it?’ If the boat is organised, you’ll be told. If the answer is a bemused expression, it’ll be down to your initiative. Check the deck. Is the line secured? If so, the kindest thing is to take up all slack then secure the bight. If it’s not secured on board, there’s no point in pulling. Your only option now is stand by to fend off.
