iNAVConnect offers Wi-Fi Internet for up to 30 users when connected to a hotspot via the WL510 boosted antenna, it also allows data from an NMEA marine instrument network to be transmitted over Wi-Fi too.

The box is splashproof (IPx4 rated) and comes with two stubby, 5dB screwon antennae. Apart from the power cable, it has a WAN socket for connection specifically for the WL510 Internet Wi-Fi booster, as well as a LAN port for connection to the marine instrument network. There are four status LEDs on the top of the box, for power, Wi-Fi, Internet and network connection.

Like the WL510, the system set-up is carried out via a browser, where you can also choose the Wi-Fi hotspot to which you want to connect.

We tried the unit out with the WL510 connected and the two ‘talked’ to each other immediately. Connection to a distant hotspot was very good, as were transmission speeds over the Internet – although just a tad slower than directly via a LAN connection to the WL510, as would be expected.
