The dual-band TP Link M7350 (2.4/5.0GHz) 3/4G Mi-Fi, can be bought unlocked on on-line for around £65, including mains/USB charger. We found the 2550mAh battery to last between six and nine hours, depending on usage.
In it we put an EE 4G LTE SIM card using the so-called ‘double-speed’ airtime package (currently no more expensive if you buy 10Gb or more of data), which worked superbly. Even with just one or two bars out of four on the signal strength indicator, we attained download speeds of close to 50mbps on the 4G network and 12.5mbps on 3G!
The unit has a small display and an easy-to-use, two-button menu system enabling you to select between 3G and 4G, and to switch data roaming on/ off. It also supports the use of up to 15 wireless devices simultaneously and can take a 32Gb micro-SD storage card.
