Raft-ups
Sooner or later we’ll raft-up, and this is the biggest nest of vipers in the handbook. Raft rage is as yet unknown to have led to physical violence, but it’s only a matter of time. Get everything right, however, and a raft-up can make you some lifelong friends. Here’s an example from last season. On the harbourmaster’s instruction, my wife and I secured our boat outside two other yachts in Weymouth in the early evening. It was blowing hard, raining, we’d had enough for one day and the great god Tide said we had to slip at 0500.
